This publication offers a new English translation of Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani’s renowned Urdu work on the Sciences of the Qur’an, ʿUlūm al-Qur’an. Drawing from the Sunni scholarly tradition, it explores a wide range of topics including revelation, preservation of the text, and Qur’anic exegesis. The author also addresses long-standing Orientalist objections, many of which remain relevant today.
In addition, the book critically engages with modernist critiques that have emerged from within the Muslim world.

This revised English edition, translated by Ml Ziyad Batha and Ml Ibraheem ibn Muhammad, incorporates valuable annotations and insights drawn from the latest research in Qur’anic studies by contemporary scholars such as Shaykh Dr. Sohaib Saeed, Shaykh Yousef Wahb, and Ustādh Sharif Randhawa.
