Holy Quran with Arabic Text English Translation and Transliteration- Abdullah Yousuf Ali (HB)

This is a nice hardbound edition of the 3-column format Holy Quran with Arabic Text, Romanized (Transliterated) into English, and translation of Abdullah Yusuf Ali(A.Y Ali). The advantage of a “romanized” transliteration of the Quran is that it allows those who are not aware of the Arabic language & eager to recite and for the beginner to learn Quranic Arabic script to be able to sound out problematic verses or words of the Quran and to be used as an aid in proper enunciation and pronunciation of Quranic Arabic text. It is a fact that no system of perfect transcription is possible, however, it has to be acknowledged that Mr. Abdul Haleem Eliasi’s (Transliterater) approach is very simple and much nearer to the perfection. How to Perform Hajj & Umrah (Free Small Handbook of Dua's for Hajj/Umrah Included)

Title: How to Perform Hajj & Umrah Author: Nur al-Din 'Itr Book Binding: Paperback Size: 12.5 x 19.5cm (approx) Publishers: Heritage Press Brief Description The hajj, or Greater Pilgrimage, to Mecca has been established as a religious duty in the Glorious Qur’an, and the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) has described it as one of the ‘pillars’ of Islam and an ‘atonement for all of one’s past sins’.  Muslims are moreover enjoined to make the umrah, or Lesser Pilgrimage, to Mecca and to visit the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) and his mosque in Medina. The present work is a comprehensive manual on how to perform these pilgrimages, in terms of both the letter and spirit of the law, according to the four Sunni schools of law—Ḥanafī, Mālikī, Shāfiʿī and Ḥanbalī—showing us the great flexibility that is characteristic of the Sacred Law of Islam. Shaykh Nūr al-Dīn ʿItr (1937–2020), from Aleppo, Syria, was one of the leading authorities on Qur’anic and Hadith sciences. After initial studies in Syria, he undertook higher learning at Azhar University in Cairo, from which he received his BA, MA and PhD in Qur’anic and Hadith studies. For many years he served as the head of the Faculty for Qur’anic and Hadith Sciences and as a professor at the University of Damascus and other Islamic institutes both in Syria and in other Arab countries, as well as authoring and editing numerous scholarly works and journals. The book comes together with a comprehensive Hajj dua handbook, titled ‘The Pilgrim’s Companion’, as shrink-wrapped pack.

  • Humility in Prayer by Ibn Rajab Hanbali Humility in Prayer by Ibn Rajab Hanbali

Humility in Prayer by Ibn Rajab Hanbali

This is a treatise we have written concerning humility (Khushu) and the hearts meakness and breaking (inkisar) before the Lord. The basic meaning of Khushu, is the softness of the heart, its being gentle, still, submissive, broken, and yearning. When the heart is humble, so too is the hearing, seeing, head, and face; indeed all the limbs and their actions are humbled, even speech. This is why the Prophet would say in his bowing (ruku), 'My hearing, sigh, bones, and marrow are humbled to You,' another narration has, 'and whatever my foot carries. One of the Salaf saw a man fidgeting in his prayer and remarked, 'If the heart of this person was humble, so too would his limbs be.' The source of Khushu, that takes place in the heart is the gnosis of Allah's greatness, magnificence, and perfection. The more gnosis a person has of Allah, the more Khushu he has. The greatest action of worship which manifests the Khushu, of the body to Allah is the prayer (salah). Allah has praised those who have Khushu, in the prayer. al-Hasan, may Allah have mercy on him, said, 'When you stand in prayer, stand in due obedience as Allah has ordered you, beware of negligence and looking (here and there), beware that Allah be looking at you while you are looking at something else, asking Allah for Paradise and taking refuge with Him from the Fire, yet your heart is heedless, not knowing what the tongue is saying. Hudhayfah said, 'The first thing you will lose of your religion will be Khushu and the last thing you will lose of your religion will be the prayer, and it is well possible that there is no good in a person who prays, and soon will come a time when you shall entre a large Masjid and not see a single person with Khushu. This small treatise deals with the correct and accurate meaning of Khushu, and with three extremely beneficial appendixes.
