The Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) said: “When you indulge in al-‘inah (interest)  transactions and take hold of the tails of cows and become satisfied with cultivation and abandon striving in His Way, then Allah shall permit your humiliation and He will not lift it from you, until you return back to your religion.” Abu Dawud # 3455 He (peace and blessings be upon him) also said: “The people will soon summon one another to attack you as people when eating invite others to share their dish.” Someone asked: “Will that be because of our small numbers at that time?” He replied: “No, you will be numerous at that time; but you will be like the scum carried down by a torrent, and Allah will take fear of you from the breasts of your enemy and place wahn into your hearts.” Someone asked: “O Messenger of Allah, what is wahn?” He replied: “Love of the world and hatred for death.” Abu Dawud # 4297 It is abundantly clear that the Muslims have been afflicted with great trials, their unity has been shattered, their strength has been exhausted and their ranks scattered. Today we are living in an age when the Muslims have reached a limit worse than which, no Muslim who believes in Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) could reach and it is one of humiliation and subjugation by others. Due to this and the sense of that humiliation which sadly reigns over all Muslim countries regardless of class or station we continually ask ourselves in our private and public gatherings and counsels: What is the cause that has led the Muslims to this lowly and despicable state and this humiliating and shameful condition? And what is the underlying reason for their arrival at this low level of debasement and wretchedness? The Sheikh may Allah have mercy on him, discuss some of the important issues that caused the downfall of Muslims and its solutions in the light of the Qur’an and Sunnah. Surah al Fatiha is the greatest chapter of the Qur'an, its like is not found in the rest of the Book or in the previous scriptures. This book provides an historical rendition of the events which culminated within Karbala. It is made distinct due to the fact that the rendition provided is based strictly upon narration deemed authentic according to the conditions of the hadith scholars. The chains of narration and references have been provided for every narration. From the author's foreword: The manipulation of historical facts and the distortion of the image of Islam is not a new phenomenon, especially with matters that rouse emotions in Islamic history. I am personally not aware of one that is more appealing to storytellers than the martyrdom of al-Ḥusayn. For his martyrdom was truly a tragedy that has caused tears to flow and uprisings to erupt. However, another disaster is that the martyrdom of al-Ḥusayn has devolved into a Greek tragedy, one that pushes away those that are rational, due to the fabrications and distortions that have tarnished his great image. Does al-Ḥusayn need fabricators to make him great?! Is he not a leader of the youth of paradise?! If that is the case, then it is high time we strip ourselves from our subjective preconceptions and learn of his history through an academic lens. This book, as short as it may be, shall be sufficient for the reader, for the lengthy versions are riddled with fabrications. If Allah wills, this book will provide the reader with a clear perspective of what exactly transpired.
