Rules of Tajwid – Learn to Read Series – South Asian Script
Rules of Tajwīd is the sequel to the Safar Qāʿidah and an integral part of the Safar Learn to Read Series. The book is structured across seven progressive levels, each focusing on a distinct learning objective and building upon the 13 levels of the Safar Qāʿidah. It can be studied alongside Safar Juz ʿAmma or as students begin reading the Qurʾān in full. Through this book, learners will develop a strong command of tajwīd by applying its rules to selected Qurʾānic passages recited to the teacher. Drawing on years of tajwīd instruction at Safar Academy, it has been designed to gradually guide students toward proficiency in Qurʾān recitation. The script is sourced directly from the widely available 13-line Qurʾān, chosen for its clarity. The text is intentionally not colour-coded for tajwīd, ensuring that students gain the confidence to read standard black-and-white muṣḥafs without reliance on visual cues. To support progress and communication, the book also features a unique marking code, a diary, and a checklist—practical tools that help monitor achievement and strengthen collaboration between students, parents, and teachers.
