Description
A Collection of Sufi Rules of Conduct (Jawāmiʿ Ādāb al-Ṣūfiyya), authored by one of the earliest masters of Sufism, is regarded as the first work dedicated to outlining the way of life and practices of the Sufis. It represents an early effort to demonstrate the harmony of Sufi beliefs and etiquette with the Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ.
This pioneering text is not only a landmark in the study of ethics and spirituality but also a concise record of Sufi thought up to the eleventh century. Its influence shaped the development of Sufism from that time onward.
The English translation by Dr. Elena Biagi is enriched with an introduction that situates the author within his historical, literary, and religious context, along with a comprehensive glossary of key Sufi technical terms.
