Description
Al-Adab al-Mufrad, an anthology of 1,329 hadiths, is one of the most valued works in Islamic scholarship, authored by the renowned Imam al-Bukhari.
In compiling this collection, Imam al-Bukhari sought to present a comprehensive model for ethical conduct and interpersonal relations—both within the Muslim community and in interactions with non-Muslims—based on the Prophet Muhammad’s example and that of his Companions. Each hadith in this work reflects the moral and behavioural standards Islam aspires to establish, and for over a millennium, Muslims worldwide have drawn guidance from its timeless lessons.
Imam al-Bukhari, celebrated for his precision and authenticity, selected only hadiths of the highest grades—Hasan (Good) and above. Focused on manners, morality, and social ethics, these narrations continue to hold great significance in scholarly and spiritual study.
What distinguishes this edition is its contemporary commentary, which highlights the continued relevance of the Prophet’s teachings in today’s complex world. This makes it one of the first complete English works to explain and contextualize the entire anthology of hadiths.
The translator and commentator, Adil Salahi, is a respected scholar with extensive research in Seerah and Hadith. His insightful commentary brings together his finest reflections on the Prophet’s moral guidance and its application in both private life and social conduct.
