Among the many works of Hadhrat Moulana Idrees Kaandhlawi رحمه الله, Seeratul Mustafa ﷺ is regarded by scholars as his greatest masterpiece. It stands out as a shining star in the field of Seerah literature, unmatched in depth of research and firmly grounded upon original and authentic sources. Through this work, Hadhrat Moulana has beautifully highlighted the true emotions, aspirations, and ideals that every Muslim should embody in relation to the noble life of Rasulullah ﷺ.
His heartfelt intention in compiling this Seerah was to present an authentic account of the blessed life of Nabi ﷺ, preserving it for future generations.
By the grace of Allah Ta’ala, this monumental work has been translated into English in three volumes by the Ulama of Madrasah Arabia Islamia, Azaadville. Each volume consists of nearly 600 pages, making it a detailed resource for serious study. However, due to its extensive nature, incorporating it into the curricula of Maktabs and Madaris proved challenging.
To address this, the Jamiatul Ulama (KZN) Ta’limi Board undertook the noble task of preparing an abridged edition. With the mercy of Allah Ta’ala, this version condenses the scholarly discussions while focusing primarily on the blessed Seerah of Rasulullah ﷺ. It thus serves as an excellent textbook for students in Madaris as well as a highly beneficial reference for the general public who wish to learn about the noble life of the Prophet ﷺ.
May Allah Ta’ala accept this humble effort, make it a source of guidance, and draw us closer to His pleasure and the love of our Beloved Master, Sayyiduna Muhammadur Rasulullah ﷺ.
